After the announcement of budget Intel Alder Lake processors at CES 2022, it became known that the company has prepared another CPU specifically for China - the Core i5-12490F. It is a 6-core 12-thread CPU, clocked at 3.0-4.6 GHz. In these parameters, it repeats the Core i5-12500, but due to the fact that the Core i5-12490F is based on a large Alder Lake crystal with partially disabled cores, it has more cache memory - 20 MB versus 18 MB for its closest global counterparts. Now the Core i5-12490F has been tested in the Geekbench benchmark, and judging by the result, we have absolutely nothing to worry about the lack of this CPU in the gamut.

The Core i5-12490F scored 1806 points in a single-threaded test and 8872 points in a multi-threaded one. This is the level of the Core i5-12400: this CPU is slightly slower in a single-threaded test, but even faster in a multi-threaded one.

In China, the Core i5-12490F is about $ 13 cheaper than the Core i5-12400, but it lacks a proprietary processor cooler.
