Russia (bbabo.net), - In Primorye, the case of the former head of the customs post "Sea Port of Slavyanka" of the Vladivostok customs of the DVTU FCS of Russia was sent to court for consideration on the merits. He is accused of taking a bribe in the amount of two million rubles, according to the official website of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Primorsky Territory.

According to investigators, from October 1, 2020 to March 4, 2021, the then head of the post received a bribe from the owner of the ship through an intermediary. The "reward" was transferred for knowingly illegal inaction - the customs had to "turn a blind eye" to the information about the transportation of undeclared automobile wheels on the vessel, not to search for the cargo and not to hold the captain of the vessel liable for the offense.

Earlier it was reported that several more former customs officers were brought to criminal responsibility for a similar crime committed under the same circumstances. The investigation against them is completed, the cases went to court.

The crime was revealed during the interaction of employees of the Investigative Committee, the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Primorsky Territory and the Far Eastern Customs Administration. The criminal case was opened in September, the suspects were then sent under house arrest.
