Adoptive granddaughter of Anna Akhmatova died

The adopted granddaughter of the poetess Anna Akhmatova, Anna Kaminskaya, died at the age of 83, REN TV reported, citing Galina Artemenko, an employee of the Anna Akhmatova Museum at the Fountain House.

Anna Kaminskaya was the granddaughter of Akhmatova's third husband, art historian Nikolai Punin. She devoted her life to art and worked in the Hermitage for over 30 years. The cause of death of the art critic is not reported.

Meanwhile, the publication MR-7 reported that Kaminskaya had been sick a lot lately. The date, time and place of the funeral are still unknown.

Anna Kaminskaya was born on May 22, 1939. Even in her student years, she began working in the Hermitage. Then, becoming an art historian and a specialist in Russian art of the 18th century, Kaminskaya participated in the creation and opening of the exposition of the Menshikov Palace. Kaminskaya was also known as a historian of the Arensov-Punin family. The poetess became the wife of art historian Nikolai Punin in 1922.

One of Kaminskaya's sons, Nikolai, followed in his mother's footsteps, becoming the guardian of the painting of the Netherlands in the 15th-16th centuries. Another, Peter, works in the field of architecture and archaeology.
