Former Obama adviser admits to cheating

Former employee of the administration of the 44th US President Barack Obama, Seth Andrew, pleaded guilty to fraud using electronic means, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the US Department of Justice.

Damian Williams, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said the former White House Counsel pleaded guilty "to devising a scheme to rob the very schools he helped create." According to him, Andrew now faces up to 20 years in federal prison for abusing his position and robbing those "whom he promised to help."

The agency indicated that the ex-official in 2005 helped create a network of public schools in New York. Andrew finished working on the project in 2013, he moved to the United States Department of Education. Subsequently, the man moved to the position of senior adviser in the White House. In 2016, he left his post in the American administration.

The biggest punishment for Andrew is 20 years in prison. The verdict will be announced on April 14. Former White House adviser agrees to compensate school networks for funds stolen from them.
