“The Yangulbaev family is waiting for a place either in prison or underground”

The wife of the former judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya, Saydi Yangulbayeva, who, according to her husband, was kidnapped by security forces in Nizhny Novgorod the day before, was found in Grozny, where she was taken as a witness in a fraud case. As Zarema Musaeva said, everything is in order with her, no violence was used against her. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in turn, said that law enforcement officers acted according to the law, and all members of the Yangulbaev family "got their hands dirty."

“No violence was used against me”

Chechen Ombudsman Mansur Soltaev published on Instagram a video shot in Grozny with Zarema Musayeva, who, according to her husband, a former judge of the Supreme Court, was kidnapped from a Nizhny Novgorod apartment the day before . Musayeva said that the police bought her diabetes medication, they did not use any violence against her.

“I drank, I pricked. No violence was used against me,” Musayeva said.

According to Sotaev, the actions of law enforcement officers attracted the attention of "yellow press and provocateurs only because they are from the Chechen Republic." The Ombudsman assured that "law enforcement officers performed their work strictly within the law."

“I almost lost my eye”

In turn, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that Musayeva herself used violence against a policeman in Grozny. “She attacked a police officer and almost took his eye. Thus, she has already earned herself an article for a real term of imprisonment, ”Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also stressed the legality of the woman's detention. According to him, the actions of law enforcement officers were agreed with Nizhny Novgorod colleagues. He noted that prior to this, Yangulbayev had been sent a summons three times. “In order not to lead to this, she only had to come on the agenda to the investigator, and not go to extremes and bring the situation to the limit,” the head of Chechnya believes.

Kadyrov was also outraged that the head of the family still retained the status of a federal judge. He is sure that Saydi Yangulbaev "defiled the judge's reputation" and "shamefully fled from Grozny."

“I appeal to the Supreme Court of Russia to take measures to expel Yangulbaev from the ranks of judges, kick him out of the reserve and completely erase his name from the history of the judicial body so as not to discredit him,” the head of the republic wrote.

He added that one of the sons of the Yangulbaevs is threatening him, so "the competent authorities will deal with him." Kadyrov clarified that "each of the Yangulbaevs got his hands dirty in the vile publications of the Telegram channel." In his opinion, the whole family "has no concept of honor and dignity."

“Be that as it may, I declare that this family is waiting for a place either in prison or underground. And it doesn't depend on me anymore. I know the mood in society. As long as at least one Chechen is alive, the members of this family will no longer be able to freely enjoy life, the honor of each representative of our people is so deeply hurt. Always remember this, Yangulbaevs,” Kadyrov concluded.

A source close to the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified to RBC that the Chechen police arrived in Nizhny Novgorod with a decision to bring the spouses as witnesses a few days before the visit to the Yangulbaevs' apartment.

Kadyrov personally tortured his son

Former judge of the Supreme Court Saydi Yangulbaev on Friday told Znak the details of his wife’s detention the day before. According to him, they knocked on the door because of a fraud case committed "against an unknown person in 2019." At first, he let only one of the policemen into the apartment. But after he disrespectfully spoke about the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, "they all flew in."

“Swearing, yelling in Chechen, in Russian. Bandits in masks. They dragged my wife along. They realized that I could not be taken anywhere, but they took her away. I defended her as best I could, but my wife told me not to go anywhere with them and not leave my daughter alone. They dragged her, they hit me, the daughter tried to close her mother - they pushed her into the wall. Then they dragged her outside, and the door was blocked. They dragged her along the stairwell, she became ill. They put her in the car. She is insulin-dependent, but they didn’t give her medicine and didn’t give her an injection,” Saidi Yangulbaev said.

The ex-judge also spoke about previous visits by law enforcement officers. Before the New Year, his eldest son Abubakar was detained in Pyatigorsk, and a search was conducted at his house. During the interrogation, he was allegedly hinted “to leave, otherwise he might be arrested.”

In addition, Saydi Yangulbaev recalled how in November 2015, when he was still working as a judge, a search was conducted in his Chechen house. His second son, Ibrahim, was then suspected of justifying terrorism because he ran an opposition Telegram channel.

“Then they told me: write a statement on the resignation of the judge, otherwise you will not see your son alive. And what was the reason? In social networks, he had a post about Kadyrov ... Ibrahim was tortured and beaten there (in the residence of the head of Chechnya -). According to Ibragim, when he, almost lifeless, was brought home, Ramzan beat him ... stood with his feet on his neck, ”said the ex-judge.According to him, in 2017 the whole family left Grozny and did not appear there again, but continues to “suffer for nothing.”

Controversy with Peskov

Saidi Yangulbaev also recorded a video message to the presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, who called it a "fantastic story" about the publication in the media about Musayeva's detention. The Kremlin spokesman said that if we are talking about kidnapping, then you need to file a statement with the police and the department begins to act.

“Dear Dmitry Peskov, (you -) called the story of the abduction of my wife Zarema Musaeva a fantasy. I confirm that my wife Musaeva Zarema was kidnapped by law enforcement officers, of whom only one showed a certificate - I barely achieved (this -) - and taken away in an unknown direction. Most likely to Chechnya,” said the ex-judge.
