United Russia appreciated the idea of reducing the non-penalized threshold to 10 km/h

The idea of lowering the non-penalized threshold to 10 km/h is neither new nor harmful; United Russia will not support this initiative. This was stated by the First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of the party Andrei Turchak, the press service of the party reported.

“We already discussed all this before the pandemic and came to a common opinion that this measure is redundant and has nothing to do with security. This idea is only about getting deeper into the pockets of citizens. As well as technical inspection in the form in which we recently canceled it, ”he said.

On December 1, the Moscow City Duma rejected a bill to reduce the non-penalized speed limit. According to the document, it was proposed to reduce the non-penalized speed threshold from 20 km / h to 5 km / h, and fine violators in the amount of up to 20 thousand rubles. So, when exceeding by 5-10 km / h, it was proposed to fine 500 rubles, for 10-20 km / h - for 1000 rubles, for 20-40 km / h - for 2500 rubles.

On December 28, Deputy Mayor and Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov suggested that the federal government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reduce the non-penalized speed limit for cars from 20 to 10 km/h.
