“Already now we can say that Moscow will break records for hospitalizations in this wave. In my opinion, other regions are also waiting, ”the physician told reporters.

After 2.5 weeks, according to Kryuchkov, a short stabilization phase will begin, followed by a slow descent - 2–2.5 times slower than the rise.

Further, Kryuchkov also did not give a positive forecast. According to him, a wave of the BA2 omicron subtype, which caused a super outbreak in Denmark, could immediately threaten.

“This branch of the omicron can lead to the fact that we will detect more than 100 thousand cases of infection per day,” Kryuchkov said.

Earlier, the head of the branch of the State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology "Vector" of Rospotrebnadzor, Alexander Semenov, said that after infection with "omicron" a person can become contagious after a few hours.
