A new criminal case against Alexei Navalny on a number of episodes of fraud was received by the Lefortovo Court of the capital. It is reported by TASS.

“The court received a criminal case against Navalny, who is accused of four counts of fraud and one count of contempt of court,” a representative of the Moscow court told the agency.

Other details of the new case are not given at this time.

Criminal cases of fraud against Navalny were opened more than a year ago. According to the investigators, Navalny stole about 350 million rubles. The money was allocated as donations to the FBK (the organization is included by the Ministry of Justice in the list of foreign agents and banned in Russia). He is also accused of disrespectful attitude towards Judge Vera Akimova, who considered the case of libel against a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, revealed the details of the incident with Navalny. In 2020, the plane in which Navalny was flying made an emergency landing in Omsk, and he was taken from the airport to the hospital. Doctors called the main diagnosis a metabolic disorder.
