The Prosecutor General's Office will check the validity of the cost of research on COVID-19

Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov instructed to check the validity of the cost of laboratory tests for COVID-19 by PCR. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The audit will be carried out against the backdrop of reports in the media about a significant increase in prices for diagnostic services in medical organizations. Prices for tests will be studied both in public and private medical institutions, as well as in the pharmacy chain.

In case of detection of violations, exhaustive measures of the prosecutor's response will be taken.

The department emphasized that, given the state importance, compliance with the law in the field of combating the spread of coronavirus infection is under constant control of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the All-Russian Popular Front, the cost of a PCR test in 13 Russian regions is more than 2 thousand rubles, in 11 regions - more than 2.5 thousand rubles, in other regions - does not exceed 2 thousand rubles, thus, the spread prices can be, depending on the region, up to 500%.

The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the data of the ONF, said that this is an excess of prices at times. And he noted that the Operational Headquarters for Combating and Monitoring the Situation with COVID-19 would pay attention to the situation.
