The Russian bank began an experiment with a four-day working week

Sovcombank has begun an experiment to transfer part of its employees to a four-day work week. According to RBC, the experiment began in January 2022.

It is reported that the innovation affected employees of the back office of the bank capable of working remotely, as well as a subsidiary of Sovcombank Technologies. The experiment involves IT specialists, employees of other departments, including top managers.

A spokesman for the lending institution said that once the four-day workweek experiment is clearly positive, the bank will be ready to introduce such a schedule for the most productive back office employees who are away 100% of the time.

While the scale of the experiment is limited, it is being carried out in a co-working space in one of the Turkish hotels. The experiment will affect 12% of employees. You can participate in the program only once, only one week is allotted for the trip, but after returning to Russia, the employee can count on maintaining such a schedule.

It is noted that with three days off a week, employees retain their previous salary.

Earlier it was reported that the majority of Russians approve of the reduction of the working week to four days.

It is noted that 78% of Russians surveyed are convinced that three days off a week is better than two, while only 47% of respondents said that their employers are ready for such a reduction in the working week. Seven out of ten Russians expressed confidence that the reduction of the working week would have a positive impact on the performance of the team.

In turn, 21% of respondents believe that such a transition is quite possible, but not less than six months later. Only 6% of respondents are convinced that their company is ready to switch to a four-day business.
