Russia (bbabo.net), - After the appeal of passengers, on behalf of the interregional transport prosecutor's office, the Northern Transport Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of consumer rights, which concerned the quality of providing access to the Internet in high-speed Sapsan.

As the press service of the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office told a correspondent, it was found that in 2017 and 2019 Russian Railways concluded contracts for the provision of Internet access services to passengers of Sapsan trains for a total amount of more than 1.5 billion rubles. In the course of the prosecutor's check, facts of overestimation of the cost of work, as well as their improper execution, were revealed. At the same time, the contractor under the contracts unlawfully included in his costs the cost of equipment that had already been installed on trains earlier.

As a result of criminal actions, according to the prosecutor's office, the cost of the work performed was overstated by more than 800 million rubles. In this regard, the Northern Transport Prosecutor sent to the investigative department of the linear department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the Moscow-Leningradskaya station the materials of the check to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution. As a result, a criminal case was initiated on fraud on an especially large scale.
