The storm warning will continue until the end of the day on February 4," the regional head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.

The possibility of emergency situations in the east was predicted in advance, the forecast was presented at a conference call at the National Anti-Crisis Center by scientists from the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergencies. According to observations from space, Kamchatka has been in the zone of influence of the cyclone for the second week. It brought a blizzard and wind with gusts of up to 15 meters per second to the peninsula. Classes in schools have been canceled, flights at the Yelizovo airport in Kamchatka are also delayed.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations also advised residents and guests of Sochi to be careful on the street and pay attention to electrical wires and weakly reinforced structures.
