Russia (bbabo.net), - The Ministry of Health of Russia allowed the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) to conduct the third phase of clinical trials of the MIR 19 coronavirus drug. This follows from the data of the register of permits for clinical trials.
The studies will be carried out on the basis of 11 medical organizations, over 1.2 thousand patients will take part in them, TASS reports.
Recall that MIR 19 was registered in Russia in December last year. Now it is used in hospitals for the treatment of patients with coronavirus. The drug is administered by inhalation using medical nebulizers. "MIR-19" blocks the replicase site of the Sars-Cov-2 virus, which is essential for the virus. Earlier, the FMBA noted that the drug is universal for the entire line of coronavirus strains.
At the end of January, the FMBA sent a dossier to the Ministry of Health for permission for a post-registration clinical trial of the drug for use in the first days after the diagnosis was confirmed.
