Head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, President of the Russian Curling Federation Dmitry Svishchev congratulated Russian skiers on their victory in the relay at the Olympics in Russia. He emphasized that this success helped to get out of a state of anxiety amid the expectation of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) verdict in the case of figure skater Kamila Valieva, suspected of doping.
“The last days have not brought us any good news from the Olympics - only depressing, only doping, anxiety and waiting for the CAS decision. Therefore, today's victory is all the more valuable because it helps us get out of this alarming state. We congratulate the whole family of skiing - tomorrow, by the way, is the Ski Track of Russia, and this is a chic gift for all ski lovers. This success is the best motivation for parents to bring their kids to skiing, ”said Svishchev.
The parliamentarian also made a compliment to the President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalba. Svishchev recalled that she, being an athlete, won a large number of awards, and now she is multiplying her achievements in a different status.
“Elena Vyalbe is a beauty, well done! She herself is one of the most titled athletes in the world, and now also one of the most titled coaches. With her arrival, skiing was revived and became very popular. My congratulations and my admiration,” said Svishchev.
Earlier, Alexander Tikhonov commented on the success of Russian skiers in the Olympic relay.
