Russia (bbabo.net), - Rescuers of the SURPS EMERCOM of Russia, having examined the banks of the Bezymyanka River (a tributary of the Psou), found the body of a monk who had been swept away by a sharp gust of water the day before. This was reported in the press service of the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Squad.

As I already wrote, one of the novices of the Valaam Spaso-Preobrazhensky Stauropegial Monastery was washed away during an attempt to ford the Bezymyanka River. The monks first tried to find their comrade on their own, but then turned to the rescuers for help.

According to the SURPS press service, on the eve of the department's employees laid a path to the scene, and they had to move through high snow, and the length of the route was about seven kilometers. And early this morning, while searching along the Bezymyanka River, the search party found the body of a man in the middle of the riverbed: in a blockage of branches and twigs.

The relief and the location of the river in this place are such that it was not possible to get close to the body even in wetsuits. Now rescuers are setting up a bridge to evacuate the body from the rubble in the middle of the river to the shore. After that, the deceased will be carried along the already laid path to the village of Aibga, and then handed over to representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia for identification.

According to the stories of local residents, the Bezymyanka River is usually very shallow and you can cross it with barely wet feet, but the day before, due to heavy rains, the water level rose sharply, reaching a mark of 1.5 meters, which led to an unexpected tragedy.
