Dealers suspected of selling seats in line to buy new cars

Employees of Russian dealerships were suspected of trading places in the queue for the purchase of new cars. Lawyers and industry representatives told News.ru about the operation of such a scheme.

One example is an ad from Alexander from the Moscow region, who is ready to sell a place in the queue for the purchase of a Skoda Kodiaq crossover booked last fall for 40,000 rubles.

“He says that the equipment is“ very good ”, if you order exactly such a car, then, according to him,“ you will wait five to eight months, no less. During the auction, the interlocutor agrees to dump 10 thousand rubles. Later it turns out that he himself is an employee of one of the car dealerships, and, apparently, he was not going to buy the initially indicated crossover, ”the note says.

The price for the service of selling a place varies from tens to several hundred thousand rubles, depending on the brand of car, the note says. For example, Grigory from Yekaterinburg can give up the right to buy a Toyota RAV4 for 100 thousand rubles, and Sergey from Tyumen asks for 300 thousand rubles for a place in the queue for the Land Cruiser Prado.

Experts note that dealers themselves have created an artificial shortage of new cars, as a result of which there are numerous offers to buy a car quickly. According to the manager of one of the car dealerships, the described scheme works almost everywhere in conditions of shortage. Moreover, many customers are willing to pay extra to get a car earlier, since the price of a car can increase by a similar amount during the waiting period.

“It often happens like this: managers receive information about the upcoming deliveries of several machines. After that, they attract "their" people: they conclude a preliminary contract for the purchase - sometimes it is enough to deposit a modest amount - up to 10 thousand rubles. Actually, after this place you can put up for sale, ”said the interlocutor of the publication.

Auto expert Sergei Burgazliev said that by the end of the year, prices for new cars will increase by 15%.

Earlier it was reported that the queue for the delivery of some car models in Russia to customers has already stretched until 2023. At the same time, according to the survey results, the vast majority of Russians do not plan to buy a car in 2022.
