Matviyenko urged the Ministry of Agriculture to plunge deeper into manure

Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko called on the Ministry of Agriculture to “plunge” into the problem of manure accumulated by agricultural enterprises, because of which they are being fined. She announced this at the meeting, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the budget committee, Anatoly Artamonov, said that large fines are imposed on agricultural enterprises due to the fact that they use manure as fertilizer, while the presence of animal waste in enterprises is considered a violation of the law.

Matvienko wondered why it was impossible to solve this problem earlier.

“Does the Ministry of Agriculture know this problem? Why don't you solve it together with the Ministry of Natural Resources? Or do you not dive so deep into the dung, is this not a royal business? she asked.

Earlier, a draft law on the introduction of ownership of manure was submitted to the State Duma, according to the portal of the Legislative Activity Support System.

The bill is called "On the products of vital activity of farm animals and amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation." According to the explanatory note, about 180 million tons of waste products of farm animals are produced annually in Russia.
