New York Fashion Week starts without top designers

New York Fashion Week has kicked off for Fall Winter 2022, with a significant proportion of young, emerging designers in the absence of major US fashion houses. Vogue talks about it.

The Week, which runs from February 11 to 16, will not feature many major US houses. So, Tom Ford postponed the release of a new collection due to production difficulties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Thom Browne rescheduled the show to coincide with the Met Gala Costume Institute ball. Also, fashion houses Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Pyer Moss and Christopher John Rogers will not take part in the Fashion Week.

Among the young brands worth paying attention to, the publication named Saint Sintra, Connor McKnight, Judy Turner, Colin LoCasio and Gogo Graham.

Fashion Week will be held in a mixed format. Some designers will show their collections live - among them Proenza Schouler, PatBO, Brandon Maxwell, Collina Strada. Other fashion houses will broadcast the shows live without the presence of guests - these include Kim Shui, Altuzarra, Anna Sui, Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung.

Earlier it was reported that 64-year-old Steve Buscemi became the star of advertising a fashion brand in a flowered suit.
