Sales of the Kia K8 premium sports sedan have begun in Uzbekistan, the press service of the brand said. The model is presented in the showrooms of the official Kia distributor Roodell in Tashkent.
Local production of Kia K8 was launched at the ADM-Jizzakh plant in the city of Jizzakh. There are currently no plans to bring K8 to other CIS markets, the company stressed.
The novelty is equipped with a 3.5 GDI engine that produces 300 hp. and 359 Nm, with an automatic 8-speed transmission and front-wheel drive. In the home market, K8 with such a motor (the most powerful in the line) can be ordered with an all-wheel drive transmission.
In Uzbekistan, the car is available in the only Signature configuration at a price of 639.9 million soums (about 4.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Among other things, the model is equipped with a proprietary set of security systems and an infotainment system with a single panoramic display (the diagonal of each screen is 12.3 inches).
The K8 sedan has become the seventh model of the brand presented in Uzbekistan: earlier, the Soul, Seltos and Sorento crossovers, the Carnival crossover, the K5 business sedan and the Stinger sports fastback entered the market.
In 2021, the Kia K8 became the successor to the K7 model (in a number of markets it was introduced as the Kia Cadenza). In the range of the Korean brand, the sedan is located between the K5 and K900 models (the latter in Russia will soon be sold under the name K9 after the update).
