Veterans of Russia appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office and Roskomnadzor because of the film Eternals

The all-Russian public movement “Veterans of Russia” sent appeals to the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, and the head of Roskomnadzor, Andrey Lipov, demanding greater control over the screening of American films that promote anti-family values in Russian cinemas.

According to the Chairman of Veterans of Russia, Ildar Rezyapov, according to the Federal Law “On protecting children from information harmful to their health and development”, such content must be labeled “18+”, however, often cinemas do not comply with the requirements and treat visit control with negligence such films by minors.

“An example is the recently released and shown in Russian cinemas film “The Eternals”, which in one of the scenes promoted the demonstration of same-sex homosexual relationships (a family consisting of two men and a child), which in one of the scenes demonstrated a joint kiss, creating thus the image of a prosperous family,” he said.

According to Veterans of Russia, such content is especially dangerous for children and young people, and therefore it is necessary to protect the younger generation from the impact of this information.

“In addition, the appeals indicate a request to exercise the right of the Prosecutor General’s Office and Roskomnadzor to legislative initiative and to submit to the State Duma a draft law on a ban on showing scenes with non-traditional sexual relations that promote anti-family values in movies,” the head of the movement emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the Marvel movie "The Eternals" was not released to cinema screens in some Middle Eastern countries due to the fact that there are LGBT characters in the film.
