A traffic policeman from the Republic of Mari El managed to stop the violator by grabbing the door and the steering wheel of his car, says MVD Media.

The duty unit received a message that a gray foreign car was moving along one of the streets of the village of Morki, the driver of which might be drunk. The traffic police found the car and demanded the driver to stop. At first, he obeyed, but when the traffic inspector suggested that he go into the official car, the man pressed the gas pedal and started off.

The traffic inspector managed to grab the door of a foreign car with one hand and, holding on to it, drove several tens of meters on his feet. As a result, he managed to grab the steering wheel and stop the intruder.

A 53-year-old local resident was driving a Korean crossover, who had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for refusing to undergo a medical examination for intoxication. This time he had signs of intoxication, but the man again refused to undergo a medical examination, the police said.

With regard to the violator, administrative materials were drawn up under Part 1 of Art. 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (disobedience to the lawful order of a police officer) and under Part 1 of Art. 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (refusal of a medical examination), his car went to a special parking lot.
