Russia (bbabo.net), - An interesting find was made by Novosibirsk archaeologists in Khakassia: at excavations near the village of Kazanovka, they found a tile that belongs to the Tashtyk culture, but has an unusual pattern for such artifacts.
The Tashtyk culture is an archaeological culture of Southern Siberia of the Iron Age (2nd century BC - 5th century AD). It arose in the first millennium of our era in the Minusinsk basin as a result of a mixture of peoples. Here they find a lot of fragments of stones and now ─ a small tile. "She was lying face up and drew attention to the strokes on her," Anton Vybornov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the Vesti Novosibirsk portal.
It is believed that the Tashtyk culture is well studied, but, as it turned out, it is still capable of presenting surprises to researchers. So, on the tile in question, a new plot stands out against the background of well-known motifs. Scientists believe that it depicts three worlds - lower, middle (where a person lives) and upper.
"The lower part of the zone is distinguished by peculiar herringbones, the middle one resembles a theater stage curtain, and the upper part is a set of intersecting lines," Anton Vybornov describes.
According to another version, the image may be a map of the area as it would look from above.
The exact age of the find will be known after radiocarbon dating.
