Russia (bbabo.net) - The Soviet District Court of Makhachkala has arrested the rector of the Dagestan State Technical University for one month, the press service of the court reports.

The man was detained on the fifth of February. He is accused of fraud on an especially large scale and official forgery.

According to investigators, in 2015-2018, the rector of the university, as part of an organized criminal group, which included officials of the educational institution, stole money that was allocated from the federal budget for scholarships to students, as well as bonuses and salaries to employees totaling more than 90 million rubles.

The ruling on detention can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Dagestan within three days from the date of its announcement, the court recalled.
