Russia (bbabo.net), - In Udmurtia, doctors saved a four-month-old child who was seriously ill with coronavirus. He was admitted to a hospital in the city of Votkinsk with high fever and convulsions. Doctors diagnosed COVID-19. And since the baby's condition worsened, they decided to transport him to a republican clinic, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.
On February 1, despite the ongoing therapy, the child began hypoxia, and saturation decreased to 80%. The baby was connected to a ventilator and put into a medically induced coma. A few days later, the newborn went on the mend. Repeated PCR tests showed a negative result for COVID.
“Now the baby has been transferred to the neonatal pathology department for further aftercare and rehabilitation, where he is undergoing a comprehensive examination. At the moment, the dynamics of the child is positive,” said Pavel Pupkov, chief physician of the RCCH.
Parents said that this is the third and long-awaited child in their family. Both mother and father are vaccinated, but the baby was not protected.
