A new prototype of the urban medium-duty electric truck MAZ-4381EE was presented in Minsk. The car was developed by the Minsk Automobile Plant together with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the press service of MAZ reports.

The novelty differs from the previous prototype, which was presented at the end of 2020, by a redesigned cabin. Then MAZ-4381E0 became the first electric truck in the history of the plant.

The Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences was engaged in the development of an electric motor with a gearbox, a traction battery, power and control electronics, software software, as well as original exterior parts (central and side panels of the cab, lining lining, door and bumper panels).

MAZ-4381EE is designed to transport goods up to 4.5 tons over a distance of up to 200 km without recharging (urban and suburban routes). It is noted that during the development of the electric truck, a 100 percent level of localization was achieved - this ensures the import independence of the base component and the intellectual component used in it.
