According to the agency, last week the number of cases of COVID-19 in Russia doubled. He stated that 147 thousand people are currently in hospitals with coronavirus. The Minister also pointed to an increase in hospitalizations, which amounted to 23% compared to the previous week. At the same time, the number of patients on mechanical ventilation decreased by 5% compared to the previous week, which, according to Murashko, is a “good signal”.

The head of the Ministry of Health stressed that the incidence of COVID-19 is growing among children, the number of infections with coronavirus infection has increased by 2.2 times over the week, and the number of severe cases of coronavirus has also increased among children. To date, 9,978 children have been hospitalized with COVID-19, the minister noted.

A day earlier, Rospotrebnadzor announced that the increase in the incidence of COVID-19 would continue for another two weeks. The Ministry of Labor urged employers to use the remote mode as widely as possible.
