Russia - How the parks of Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, Bitsa, Kuskovo and Yauza will be renovated

Russia (bbabo.net), - Beautification, which the capital has been engaged in for the second decade, this year will reach two natural and historical parks, Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo and Bitts, the Kuskovo forest park, as well as two northern sections of the newly created Yauza park. What will be new in the updated green areas, we will tell in this article.

Why do parks need repairs

Many Muscovites in the city have favorite park trails or picnic spots. The question is: why change something? As Sergei Melnikov, deputy head of the Moscow Department of Capital Repairs, explained, the main goal of human intervention in forest parks is to preserve the existing ecosystems of the territories and restore disturbed areas. Each park has its own recipe for salvation. A single approach for all is the planting of trees and shrubs of those species that already grow there. So that Muscovites do not worry about the fate of their park, three information centers were opened in each. They are located at the entrances from residential areas. In small nice pavilions, comprehensive information about the upcoming works is presented. Residents can leave their comments and suggestions here.

Back to news | There are a lot of people here even on a weekday: skiers, mothers with children, couples of pensioners. People come here even from other regions. For example, during a walk I met a family - my mother, grandmother and preschooler Viktor, who live near the Voykovskaya metro station. “There are beautiful views here, unusual sculptures, but the playgrounds are in need of repair,” said the boy’s mother, Anastasia Krylova. “My son also likes bird feeders.”

In fact, not only playgrounds require repairs. There are also fallen trees, and in the Pokrovskoye-Glebovo estate there are ruins instead of a greenhouse, an abandoned view at the front gate. Landscaping in this park will affect more than 80 hectares of territory. But it will not be combed one size fits all, but conditionally divided into five parks: environmental and educational, historical and cultural, sports, leisure and recreational and natural. Each will have their own highlights. Work began with the most difficult part - the estate. Now it is closed with a construction grid. The buildings will be restored according to historical drawings, and a regular garden will be recreated. Next in line is the restoration of the leisure and recreational part: the sandy shore of the Khimki reservoir, a recreation area near the water. A large sports park with a complex of sports fields and tennis courts will be built on the site of the current illegal garages. The natural park is almost not touched, only dead wood and emergency trees will be removed. This area will be pierced by the existing eight-kilometer sports trail.

For each park, we found a recipe for improvement

On the other hand, the transformations will affect the territory of the ecological and educational park from the Tsarevna Swan springs and the floodplain of the Khimki River to the Elizavetinskiy ravine. Convenient descents to the water for people with limited mobility will be equipped here, and an observation deck will appear. "The work will be carried out in stages in different parts of the park," said Daniil Lazorev, a specialist at the park's information center. Work will be completed by the end of August.

Ring for rest

In the natural-historical park Bitsevsky forest, it is the second longest in the city after Losiny Island, the main task is to preserve the protected area. It will be cleared of dead wood and fallen trees, and reclamation will be carried out. All playgrounds and places of quiet rest in the depths of the park will be put in order. Cardinal transformations await the buffer area of the park between the forest and buildings. On this territory with an area of 380 hectares, a "ring with infrastructure for recreation" will be created, and a sports and recreation route with a length of more than 20 kilometers will be laid along it.

From the side of Yasenev, playgrounds for sports, games and recreation are being equipped. Around the meadow, or, as it is more commonly called, Lysa Gora, eco-trails will be laid, which will help preserve the migratory routes of insects. However, the idols of ancient Slavic deities standing here for many years have not been touched. And so that during mass events the townspeople do not trample the grass, they will make a special platform. Built for the 1980 Olympics, the Bitsa equestrian sports complex will become the dominant feature of a large sports cluster.Back to news | They will not touch the museum territory. The territory will be cleared of dry and emergency trees, and lindens, elms, and oaks familiar to this park will be planted instead. New flower beds will also be planted. The buffer zone of the forest park will be renovated and new playgrounds and sports grounds will be created, both of which will be equipped with lighting. Lighting will also appear along the Dry and Dog ponds. By the way, these ponds, as well as overgrown canals, will be cleaned of bottom sediments. Bicycle routes and paths for running and Nordic walking will be laid. More benches will be placed throughout the park for rest - now, to walk from one to the other, you need to walk for almost half an hour.

Mini-Yauza

The creation of "Yauza Park" will continue with the beginning of spring. The turn has come to putting in order 40 hectares of northern plots located along Severodvinskaya Street and from Shirokaya to Yeniseiskaya Street. The works will affect the territories of three districts: Severnoye Medvedkovo, Losinoostrovsky and Babushkinsky. How to improve this area, the residents themselves decided. As in other areas of this park, for better communication between areas across the river, additional bridges will be laid here, and you can sit by the water on wooden piers. Residents were also asked to lay jogging and bicycle paths, create an eco-trail, and additionally plant trees on the territory. A public square with an amphitheater near Yeniseiskaya Street will be renovated. The continuation of this zone will be the center of active longevity. And the main feature of this part of the left bank will be a luxurious playground with a play stream resembling a small copy of the Yauza River itself. Children will be able to play in it, launch boats or conduct water experiments. And the right bank will be decorated with a large children's cluster with slides for skiing. The main work is planned to be completed by the end of the summer.

Green "gold"

According to a study by PwC, Moscow ranks first in terms of the area of green areas per person among the largest cities in the world (New York, Beijing, London, Singapore). About 90% of Muscovites live near green areas.
