Russia - A resident of Ulan-Ude was convicted of buying and using a vaccination certificate

Russia (bbabo.net) - The Sovetsky District Court in Ulan-Ude has sentenced a local resident for acquiring and using a fake coronavirus vaccination certificate.

As reported on the website of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Buryatia, a 26-year-old previously convicted man works in the service sector, and therefore had to be vaccinated against COVID-19 without fail. But the Ulan-Ude resident went the other way: in June last year, he bought a deliberately fake certificate from a person unidentified by the investigation. The "document", which cost a thousand rubles, was provided by the convict at the place of work.

The court found him guilty of committing a crime under part 3 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (acquisition, storage for the purpose of use of a knowingly forged other official document granting rights or relieving duties).

Taking into account the outstanding conviction on the previous verdict, the man received a sentence of six months' imprisonment with a suspended sentence of two years' probation. The verdict has not entered into force.

Such cases are not uncommon in the Far Eastern Federal District. Recently, in the Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia, a site selling fake coronavirus vaccination certificates was stopped. Employees of the supervisory agency identified a suspicious resource during Internet monitoring. In the seaside city of Artyom, a criminal investigation into the receipt of false certificates of preventive vaccinations for bribes has been completed.
