Russia (bbabo.net), - The Moscow City Court dismissed the appeal of the defense against the detention of Alexander Kravchenko, the head physician of the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. Lawyers asked the prison doctor to choose house arrest or a ban on certain actions.

The defense, in their request, referred to the positive characteristics of Kravchenko and the fact that he had three young children. The doctor himself, who participated in the trial via videoconferencing, pleaded not guilty. According to him, according to the charges brought by the investigation, he committed unidentified abuses in an unspecified period of time against unidentified persons.

According to the investigation, from 2020 to 2021, Kravchenko received money from detainees and convicts for falsifying medical diagnoses. He conducted medical examinations, as a result of which the defendants in criminal cases received the “necessary” severe diagnoses, after which they were released from custody or serving their sentences for medical reasons.

Investigators have identified at least eight people who were released from custody due to falsified diagnoses.
