Russia (bbabo.net), - The Department of the Investigative Committee for the Tambov Region opened a criminal case after the murder of Viktor Vakulchik, deputy head of the regional department of highways and transport.

The case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder", the investigators said. The body of a 56-year-old man with stab wounds was found on the morning of February 14 at the entrance of a high-rise building on Astrakhanskaya Street in Tambov.

"Investigators and criminologists of the regional investigation department continue to work at the scene. Various versions are being worked out about the motives for what happened, including the possible connection of the crime with the official activities of the deceased," the Investigative Committee noted.

Acting Governor of the Tambov Region Maxim Yegorov expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and his readiness to provide all necessary assistance to the investigation.
