Two new variants of omicron identified in Poland

In Poland, two new subvariants of the omicron mutation of the coronavirus strain have been identified. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic, Waldemar Kraska, on the air of Polish Radio.

According to him, the department does not yet know how these species will behave and what the course of the disease will be.

“The coronavirus will stay with us longer,” Kraska said, urging Poles to take precautions.

Poland is currently fighting the fifth wave of the coronavirus. In recent days, the majority (96%) of patients with coronavirus infection in the country have been directly diagnosed with the Omicron strain.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 5.3 million cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the republic, more than 108 thousand people have died.
