The number of hospitalizations per day amounted to 10,451 people and decreased by 17.4% compared to the previous day, the headquarters for combating coronavirus infection reported.

At the same time, the total number of cases per day is 180,456 people, and over the past day, 97,185 people recovered from COVID-19, 683 people died per day.

Most cases of infection were recorded in St. Petersburg (11,384), Moscow (9,616), Moscow region (6,398), Novosibirsk region (5,824) and Perm region (5,545).

Over the entire period of the pandemic in Russia, there were 14,313,965 cases of coronavirus, 11,333,044 people were cured, 340,931 died.

Earlier, virologist Anatoly Altshtein, MD, said that the fifth wave of coronavirussia could end closer to summer. In his opinion, a decline in the incidence will be observed in February-March.
