Russia - Chumakov: 2% of the world's population would have died out if not for the covid vaccine

Russia (bbabo.net), - About 2% of the world's population would have died out if vaccines against coronavirus had not been created. However, it is thanks to vaccination that the pandemic seems to have come to an end. This opinion was expressed by the director of the US Center for Global Virological Network Professor Konstantin Chumakov.

"If we allowed this virus to run rampant like this, then 2% of the world's population would die out. Thanks to the fact that vaccines were created and thanks to the fact that this virus has changed towards less pathogenicity, we now seem to have come to the end of this pandemic" , - he said on the air of Radio Russia.

The expert added that the summer will already be pandemic-free. However, the coronavirus itself, according to him, will not disappear anywhere. This disease will remain with a person forever and next winter, most likely, there will be an increase in the incidence again. But this, as Chumakov noted, will not be the same disease at all. As an example, he cited countries where the majority of the population is vaccinated, in particular, Denmark and Israel. There, the mortality rate from coronavirus today is 0.03%. That's less than the seasonal flu.

Earlier, Andrei Fisenko, director of the National Medical Research Center for Children's Health of the Russian Ministry of Health, warned of the threat of "omicron" to minors. According to him. omicron is highly contagious. Children began to become infected with it much more often than with other strains of coronavirus. And if previously there was an asymptomatic course of COVID-19 in children, now there is a whole symptom complex: high body temperature, weakness, headache, runny nose, cough, sore throat and sore throat, often diarrhea and in some cases a rash.
