From the Kulibaba and Graves group. Members of the combat wing of the gang of the 90s were detained

Criminal Investigation operatives have detained two members of the "combat wing" of the criminal group of the 90s era. According to detectives, they are involved in four contract killings and two attempted murders committed more than 20 years ago.

Four murders and attempts

“In St. Petersburg, detectives detained 56-year-old Anatoly B., and in the city of Borovichi, Novgorod Region, 53-year-old Igor V. In the 90s, both were part of the liquidation a team of one of the then existing criminal groups in St. Petersburg. The employees of the criminal investigation department established the involvement of the detainees in specific crimes, including their motives, ”the website of the Russian Interior Ministry for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reports.

While the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department were trying to solve old crimes, they found new information about those who could be involved in the never-solved "contract" murders in the late nineties and early zero.

On December 10, 1996, a Jeep Grand Cherokee with two bandits was shot in the courtyard of 16 Socialist Street. Both were injured but survived. According to the police, the assassination was ordered and executed by Igor V. According to the detectives, the motive for the crime was common for that time - a conflict with other bandits.

Almost a year later, on October 14, 1997, in the courtyard of the house 10/12 on Moskovsky Prospekt, another representative of the criminal world of St. Investigators found that Anatoly B. organized the murder. He acted in advance - allegedly the deceased was going to kill one of the leaders of the criminal group, which included the suspects.

On December 30 of the same 1997, in a cafe on Energetikov Avenue, the foreman of one of the gangs was killed by four shots. Both detainees again became the organizers and perpetrators of the murder. The motive is the redistribution of spheres of criminal influence.

On May 19, 1999, already in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, 23-year-old Inna P. was found stabbed to death in the ditch of a highway. According to the police, Igor V. inflicted many knife wounds on her. The girl was in the same group as Igor and Anatoly, but she wanted to get out of crime, and they killed her so as not to leave unnecessary witnesses to all the crimes of the gang.

On September 21, 2001, again in St. Petersburg, at house 8 on Pionerskaya Street, in his Opel Frontera car, a local businessman T. was shot with a sniper shot from a carbine. According to the detectives, Anatoly B. organized the murder in order to seize the business of the deceased.

The search for criminals

“Looking for the organizers and perpetrators of the crimes committed, the criminal investigation investigators found that more than 20 years after those events, one of the suspects is working as a worker at a building materials plant in the city of Borovichi, and the second is not officially working anywhere. Both detainees were transferred to the investigating authorities for procedural actions, ”the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Police officers also identified other persons who were related to these crimes. Among them are customers. All those involved are now being sought.

Kulibaba, Mogila and Kuvalda

According to Fontanka, the second detainee was arrested at the beginning of the 2000s as the organizer of one of the most high-profile murders in St. Petersburg: in 1999, the car of Vice Speaker of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Viktor Novoselov was blown up. But the convict in this case was released about 10 years ago.

According to the publication, both detainees were part of the circle of Vladimir Kulibaba, a St. Petersburg businessman who was arrested in December 2021 for the destruction of a man nicknamed Kuvalda. All together they were part of the St. Petersburg crime boss Kostya-Mogila. He was killed in 2003.

At the same time, Fontanka claims that in five criminal cases initiated against the detainees, there is allegedly evidence and direct references to 54-year-old Petersburger Dmitry Skvortsov. He served as a colonel of justice as an assistant to the head of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Romanov. Skvortsov recently retired.

The publication also clarified that Skvortsov will soon be put on the wanted list and will be arrested in absentia. Allegedly, he is actually charged with the order for all the murders for which two members of the "combat wing" of the criminal group of the 90s were arrested.
