Russia - Epidemiologist Pokrovsky explained the jumps in the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia

Russia (bbabo.net), - Epidemiologist Vadim Pokrovsky explained the unstable curve in the number of people infected with coronavirussia. On the graph - then an increase, then a decrease.

“The virus needs some time to start spreading in a particular region. Here, first of all, the influence of the time factor and the large territory of the country takes place. First, we saw a strong increase in the incidence in Moscow, then a decrease. Steady growth continues, this is a completely natural phenomenon," the expert said on Sputnik radio.

Pokrovsky drew attention to another curious point: bursts of incidence depend on the day of the week.

"Usually, fewer examinations are done on Saturday and Sunday. And on Monday and Tuesday, on the contrary, more. We can technically have such a rise in the middle of the week. And it looks like jumps in incidence," the epidemiologist added.
