Russia (bbabo.net), - The total prize fund of the first National Internet Content Award will amount to 18 million rubles. Alexey Goreslavsky, Director General of the Internet Development Institute (IRI), spoke about this on February 15 at a press conference in TASS dedicated to the presentation of the Prize.
In total, 383 projects were submitted to the competition, which premiered on the Internet from September 2020 to December 2021: videos, podcasts, articles, projects in the media and the blogosphere, feature and documentary series, films.
"We realized that we needed a tool to encourage the creation of socially significant content. It's hard to make positive content, to make popular positive content even harder. This impact content is what affects us and encourages us to become better, pay attention to some social phenomena. Industry leaders, Russian media, content producers, video hosting companies, media holdings, blogging agencies could put forward projects. This gives an understanding of the coverage - about 100 organizations," said Alexei Goreslavsky, Director General of the IRI.
Roman Karmanov also noted that the award itself, along with 12 thousand other projects, took part in the highly competitive selection of the fund and showed one of the highest results of 76 points. He stressed that such projects are of high importance, and the appearance of the award is a timely and justified decision.
The winners of the award will receive prizes in 21 nominations, divided into three blocks: "Best Social Projects", "Thematic Nominations", and "Special Nominations". The nominations are intended to highlight content about the achievements of Russian citizens, volunteering, charity, history, culture, education, etc. The award ceremony will take place on March 3rd.

The first annual National Internet Content Award was established in 2021 by the Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI") with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The award recognizes the merits of authors and producers of socially significant content who make a special contribution to the development of Runet and the promotion of topics important to society.
