The chairman of the UK in his speech said that the state allocated more than 4 trillion rubles for the implementation of national projects, but there are regions where this money was "illegally used."

"Corruption of officials, bribery, abuse of power, negligence and direct theft - these are the main crimes that are committed today in this area, hindering the fulfillment of the national tasks set," Bastrykin emphasized.

Last year, the Investigative Committee opened 585 criminal cases on crimes in this area, which is twice the figure for 2020. The largest number of such cases is related to the implementation of demographic and housing programs. 200 criminal cases against 244 defendants have already been brought to court, of which 144 were officials. At the investigation stage, 57% of the damage was compensated, in addition, the property of the accused was seized, the amount of which "will make it possible to compensate for the material damage caused by the crimes."

Bastrykin also criticized the work of his subordinates in Komi, the Voronezh region, Mari El, and Chechnya.
