Vienna police have charged a 22-year-old woman with stabbing a migrant who tried to rape her.

According to Kronen Zeitung, the incident took place last week, but law enforcement officers released information about it only three days later and after a request from the press. So, the accused went into the entrance of her apartment building on Schönbrunner Strasse in the Meidling district, when she was suddenly attacked. The man dragged her into the yard, threw her to the ground and grabbed her private parts.

Subsequently, the woman managed to pull out a knife from her purse, with which she hit the attacker several times. The attacker, having been injured, took her purse and fled.

Shortly thereafter, the police detained the attacker - he turned out to be a 24-year-old Syrian migrant seeking asylum in Austria. During his arrest, a small amount of marijuana was also found in his possession, and traces of alcohol were found in his blood. He is currently charged with attempted rape.

At the same time, the woman was charged with causing bodily harm.

“Absolutely insensitive approach,” stated her lawyer Michael Dor.

Earlier it was reported that a migrant was detained in Kolpino, who tried to rape a 12-year-old girl.
