The Women's World Car of the Year jury has released the list of nominees for the 2022 competition. The selection was made by a jury team of 56 women journalists from 40 countries who tested 65 new models.

Each of the contenders, the organizers of the competition say, should stand out with a variety of qualities, including driving pleasure, comfort and technology, design, energy efficiency, environmental care and value for money.

The Peugeot 308 won the City Car nomination, and the Kia Sportage was awarded the Family Crossover title. The electrified Jeep Wrangler 4xe won the 4x4 and pickup category. Three electric cars won in other categories at once: the Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover won the Big Car category, the BMW iX won the Big SUV category, and the Audi e-Tron GT electric sedan was recognized as the highest-performance model. These models will compete for the main award.

The Women's World Car of the Year award was founded in 2009. This year the winner will be announced for the 12th time on March 8th.

Earlier, the finalists of the World Car of the Year competition were announced: out of ten Car of the Year 2022 models, three are presented on the Russian market.
