Ministry of Health: 7 million Russians must undergo medical examination after covid

Russia (bbabo.net), - About 7 million Russians who have recovered from the coronavirus must undergo an in-depth medical examination. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Health Yevgeny Kamkin. According to him, 1.9 million people underwent such a survey last year, TASS reports.

“Over the past period of 2022, more than 146,000 people underwent this medical examination. But the real need for in-depth medical examination today is about 7 million people,” Kamkin said.

Extended medical examination for those who recovered from covid was introduced on July 1, 2021. It is designed to identify post-illness complications and disorders associated with post-COVID syndrome.

"We were also able to allocate additional funds for this and enable citizens, even those who have not actually been diagnosed with this, that is, not confirmed by laboratory and clinical studies, the opportunity to undergo this in-depth medical examination," Yevgeny Kamkin added.

It is also known that a consultation with a psychiatrist can be included in the list of free services within the framework of in-depth medical examination.
