The interrogation of political scientist Valery Solovyov is over, according to Telegram channel 112.

The political scientist and his son left the building of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. According to the publication, both of them are witnesses in the case of extremism. The reason for initiating a criminal case was the publications in the Telegram channel “General SVR”.

According to RT, citing a source close to the investigation, a linguistic examination will be appointed in the political scientist's case: investigators will study Nightingale's public statements on social networks for inciting hatred.

Earlier, searches were carried out in the house of Nightingale and his relatives. In relation to Nightingale, a case was opened under Part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity). According to sources, Professor Solovey published posts in the anonymous Telegram channel "General SVR" about employees of the Russian authorities.

In 2019, Solovey wrote on Facebook that he was leaving MGIMO “for political reasons.” He told Interfax that he was "asked" to leave, saying that his continued stay at the institute was "highly undesirable."
