The chief preventive specialist of the Ural Federal District, Doctor of Medical Sciences Sergey Tokarev, said that those who had recovered from COVID-19 could develop psychocovid, a complication associated with mental health disorders. It is reported by URA.RU.

“Not so long ago, another post-covid state was identified and described - psychocovid, that is, not only and not so much a neurological pathology, but also mental health disorders, primarily cognitive and affective disorders, including defects in memory, attention, irritability, depression, increased anxiety and psychasthenic syndrome," Tokarev said.

He stressed that experts are already calling for the need for additional medical examinations and future psychological rehabilitation of patients.

Earlier, Tokarev said that with the Omicron coronavirus strain, patients began to develop bladder disease - cystitis.

The specialist recalled that with coronavirus, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract often occur - the stomach hurts and the stool is upset. Also, such complications are possible when immunity is weakened due to a viral attack on the body.
