A Moscow court refused to arrest blogger Edward Beal for violating the terms of a preventive measure. He was accused of using Instagram during the ban on the use of the Internet, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Bill's lawyer Sergei Zhorin, the prosecutor's office found a blogger's Instagram account with 6,000 followers, and according to the measure of restraint imposed on the blogger, Bill is forbidden to use the Internet.
“They found one of the millions of fake accounts that Beal has nothing to do with 6,000 subscribers,” the lawyer said.
Earlier it became known that the court overturned the sentence against blogger Edward Biel (real name Eduard Biel), who caused an accident on the Garden Ring, the case was transferred for a new trial. The prosecution considered the sentence handed down for a mass road accident with grievous bodily harm to be too lenient.
In July, Edward Beal was sentenced to 2 years of restraint of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for 3 years. By a court decision, he could not leave his place of permanent residence from 20.00 to 8.00, travel outside Moscow and the Moscow Region, and also change his place of residence without notice.
The accident on the Garden Ring happened on April 1, 2021. Beal driving an Audi flew into the oncoming lane, as a result of an accident, five cars received various damages. State Duma consultant Maria Artemova was seriously injured in the accident.
