The US Embassy in Ukraine accused Russia of shelling the Kiev-controlled Stanytsia Luhanska in the Donbass. The diplomatic mission announced this on its Twitter.
Earlier, the press center of the Ukrainian headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation reported on Facebook about the shelling of the settlement.
“During the Russian shelling of Stanytsia Luhanska in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities in Donbas, a kindergarten was damaged, two teachers were injured, and the power supply was out of order. It is clear who the aggressor in Donbas is Russia. This attack, like many others, is Russia's heinous violation of the Minsk agreements and once again demonstrates Russia's disdain for Ukrainian civilians,” the embassy said in a statement.
Also, according to representatives of the diplomatic mission, reports of allegedly unusual military actions of Ukraine in the Donbass are a frank attempt by the Russian government to “fake a reason for the invasion.”
Earlier, the LPR reported that Kiev invited foreign media to the part of Donbass under its control - representatives of Western media, including the American CNN, NBC TV channels, as well as the Romanian TV channel Antenna TV, arrived in the areas of the settlements of Stanitsa Luganskaya, Shchastya and Krymskaya.
US President Joe Biden called for preparations for Russia's "invasion" of Ukraine "under a false flag" in the coming days.
