The largest Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles BYD Auto Industry and the Uzbek company UzAuto (Uzavtosanoat) will study the feasibility of a joint project for the production of cars and buses using new energy sources in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of UzAuto.

The parties signed a memorandum of understanding, indicating the intentions of the parties. In addition to the production of NEV vehicles (hybrids, electric vehicles and electric buses), the project includes the creation of a sales and service network, including the repair of batteries and motors of electric vehicles.

BYD Auto Industry, a subsidiary of BYD Co Ltd, which develops and manufactures new energy vehicles, has eight factories in various countries, ranks second in sales of NEV vehicles in the world and first in China. BYD's production capacity is about 1 million vehicles per year, and its market capitalization is estimated at $100 billion.

Earlier it became known that UzAuto Motors will bring the Chevrolet Tracker crossover and the Onix sedan of the same brand to the Russian market.
