A total of over 10,000 people crossed the border from Donbass to Russia on Saturday morning, February 19. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source familiar with the situation.

“At 10:00 a.m., 10,356 people crossed the border: 4,527 citizens of the Russian Federation, 5,806 citizens of Ukraine, and 23 foreigners,” he said.

On February 18, the leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics announced the temporary evacuation of the inhabitants of the republics to the Rostov region in connection with the threat of a military attack from Ukraine.

Also, the leaders of the republics of Donbass announced a general mobilization.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Viktor Yatsutsenko said that refugees from Donbass, in addition to the Rostov region, could be sent to seven more regions of Russia.
