The first train since 2014 left Luhansk for Russia

A train with evacuated residents of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic left for Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Sergey Kozlov, chairman of the LPR government, the train will bring about 650 people to Russia. The train will make stops in republic-controlled Alchevsk and Sverdlovsk.

It is noted that this is the first train since 2014, which went from Lugansk to Russia.

Before that, it became known that residents of the DPR would be able to travel by train to Russia from the Donetsk-2 station in the Kalininsky district of the city, as well as from stations located in the cities of Makeevka and Ilovaisk.

Earlier it was reported that about 36 thousand refugees from Donbass arrived in the Rostov region. Against the backdrop of what is happening, the governor of the Rostov region signed a decree on the introduction of an emergency regime in the region.

On February 18, the heads of the DPR and LPR announced the evacuation of citizens, explaining such a measure as a threat of an imminent attack by the Ukrainian military.
