The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to fellow citizens in Ukraine to leave the country.

“All citizens of France, whose stay in Ukraine has no good reason, are advised to leave the country. It is also desirable to postpone all trips to Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The diplomats noted that all French in Ukraine should not visit the north-east of the country and exercise increased vigilance "in the face of tension created by the concentration of Russian troops and the increasing violations of the ceasefire along the line of contact."

Earlier, the German Foreign Ministry recommended that its citizens leave Ukraine. A similar recommendation was issued by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said it was not clear whether the war in Ukraine was a "determined matter".
