Russia (bbabo.net), - Citizens will be required to separate waste, and legal entities to deal with their disposal. Such norms are contained in the draft law on the creation of a system for handling secondary resources, which was submitted to the State Duma.

The purpose of the document is to increase the level of waste use in economic activities, explained the committee on ecology and environmental protection of the lower house of parliament. The law may come into force as early as September 1 this year.

From 2030, a complete ban on the disposal of secondary resources and secondary raw materials is expected - that is, everything useful that ended up in garbage cans. These components will be selected at sorting stations and transferred to processing plants.

The volume of municipal solid waste generation in Russia increased to 60 million tons last year. However, they make up a small part of the total waste in the country - industry and agriculture generate almost 7 billion tons of waste per year. Companies will be offered to share what is left after the main production into waste and by-products. The first will then go for recycling, and the second will become a raw material for their own needs or a product that will have to be sold on the market.
