The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine has decided to introduce a state of emergency throughout the country. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the secretary of the organization Alexei Danilov.

According to him, the state of emergency will not affect the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“According to our legislation, the Verkhovna Rada must approve this decision within 48 hours…,” Danilov said.

He explained that the measures will be tightened or softened depending on the situation in different parts of the country.

At the same time, there is no decision on mobilization in Ukraine now, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council said.

“This decision is taken separately. To date, there is no such solution. If necessary, it will be accepted,” Danilov noted.

Also, a representative of the department noted that the introduction of a state of emergency would not affect the lives of citizens of Ukraine.

“I emphasize once again that in our life it can hardly be displayed radically. There is a certain list of things that are in the law on the introduction of a state of emergency,” he said in a statement.

In turn, the Ukrainian authorities do not intend to confiscate registered weapons from the population when a state of emergency is introduced.

Preliminarily, at first, the state of emergency will be in effect for 30 days, but its extension to 60 days is not ruled out, the country's National Security and Defense Council concluded.
